it states that if you filed after July 30, 2007 then a fee is no longer needed. My I-485 application was filed under the old fee structure. Does it still mean I can file without a fee.

Last month dates were 7 Jan 2005.
This month dates are 22 Jan 2005.
Still the reported Jan 2005 approvals(, IV ) etc are less than 5.
Not sure whats happening to these

Quick question,
My case (I-140, I-485) is at Texas Service Center, because when I first applied I used to live in New Jersey and that was the service center I had to use.
I've been having a lot of trouble with Texas and California is working on case like mine a lot faster and I've been living here for the last 18 months.
Is there a way I can transfer my case to CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER?
How?

Thanks to Googler,
i called TSC and after about 10 mins or wait, i was directed to a very nice lady. Who basically told me that they are processing April 30 application adn since mine is august RD, I have about 4 more months before they look at my file. So to answer, they do go by RD and not ND. She also tole me that my name check has been cleared. Its a matter of time now.
I have not seen any updates on my case, since the LUD after FP. I do have a criminal issue, so I anticipate an interview. However, i have forwared all my court docs to them when i applied for 485. some attorneys tell me that interveiw may not even be needed since they have all the court docs. It was for a DWI 8 years ago.

I think if you can prove the emergency to the consulate then you can book an emergency appt. I assume all H1's are eligible for this appt. SEnd a mail to consulate and chekc it out.

Company A has file for H1B and it got stamped. I came to USA last week and did not join them (Company A) as they were not able to provide me job and were asking me to delay my trip to USA. Now last week monday they (Company A) said they will terminate my visa and will report to USCIS. My new employer has yet not applied for H1B transfer. So i wanted to know how much time do i have left to do it (H1B Trasfer). Suppose Company A filed for visa cancellation on 11th June, Monday. Please let me know if there would be any problem in filing for H1B transfer now as Company A has filed for cancellation before I file for H1B Transfer.
I would appreciate a detiled reply.

started as an intern with local in the month of march 06 and I was given offer till end of august. but my school official gave me work permit on a semester basis and gave it only for srping 06, which end in may 15th. I couldn't update my CPT status for 1 day for summer 06 and started on 16th may, so the school official has said that i am out of status.Since re-instatement is not possible from school as it was unauthorized work permit. They have advised me to go to home country and attend visa to be eligible for reinstatement. I have grauduated last month with masters of science..
They said they will provide me recommendation letter for me to show to consular officer. Also, I have an MBA admit in same university for spring 2007.
so should i come to new program..if thats the case how to get an emergency appoitment.

I'm working on L1 & have H1 petition without COS.
Can my H1 employer apply for COS, so that I can change my status from L1 to H1 without visiting India?
Also, I've an offer from a third company... can this company file for Change of Status from L1 to H1 & transfer the H1? I've the H1 petition I129 number, but no paystubs on H1. I've paystubs on L1.
Can I transfer to H1 to this third company? Will I have to get my H1 stamped frmo INdia then join this third company?
If not, is there any other option?

What is the impact on GC (485 application) approval for a minor Customs violation at the airport?.
I unintentionally ignored to declare some food that i was bringing and airport customs officer fined me $300.
Will this impact my 485 application, that i will be filing soon?.

I am on H1 (primary), currently working for this company for past 6-7 years. Applied for I-485, AP, EAD on 2nd July along with my husband's petition, who came to US on H4. Changed to F1 for past 5 years. He just got his EAD card and in next 6 months time, he will be accepting position with my same company upon graduation.
My question is what shd we do now, since he is on F1 on student records, but has a EAD approved.
Possibilities :-
1) Shd he call his student dept and get records changed from F1 to EAD holder?
2) Shd he continue as F1 and not worry about EAD for now?
3) Shd he accept the pjob offer on EAD and move on from there?
4) Can I continue to be on H1 and not use up EAD for now?
Pls. advise me our further course of action, which is legally correct.

Hello Folks,
I received a code 2 notice for I765 but i dont have my passport as it was sent to renewal. Eventhough FP Notice says ID card should be one of Alien Card / Drivers license , passport, State issued card my experience earlier says ASC only accepts Passport. Will they accept EAD Card etc as ID ? Any experience different than this ? Please post.
Btw this is my third time i am renewing for EAD.
Please advice.

I am planning to get my H1B extension Visa stamped in Montreal, Canada. i am in US right now. I have completed the online application. I have paid the fee through my credit card and the status of the transaction is showing as "Pending" in my bank account. I can able to see "MRV Fee Receipt Number". i can also able to see Schedule Appointment First Available: Friday, November 12, 2010 09:30 AM. But I am not able to schedule an appointment. All of the steps I performed on Yesterday. So I have waited for today for any changes and all remains the same.
Please help me.

I am asking because I am wondering whether USCIS has really 'touched' my file or if this is just a regular 'batch update' that happened to all applications, may be because of the new website migration.
Appreciate your answers.
