The third of three immigrants on the the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology is Professor Ahmed Zewail, the winner of the 1999 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Dr. Zewail is a professor of Chemistry and Physics at Caltech and is the Director of Caltech's Physical Biology Center. You could ask your company to specify during the amendment that your work requires you to work in different cities as required for the purpose of the job. I know my H-1B amendment was sent in with this.

Does anybody know how long is it taking to get back the Prevailing Wage from the SWA?
My company has just started my GC process and the Prevailing Wage is the first step before they can post my job.....
Our lawyers told us about 2 months....is that correct????

Hi
I am working on H1B from Oct 2009. My employer and client has one layer between of them. For some family reason I need to visit India for 10 days. Will it cause any problem / Issue on airport (immigration counter) when I will come back to USA ?
In this case how can I prepare myself to face situation? What documents do I need to prepare to prove that even though I am working with one layer then also my employer control my salary and tax stuffs ?

Hi,
ur wife's parents can write an affidavit stating the petname alias realname.For instance if her petname is "rani" and true name "swathi".They can write an affidavit mentioning that" rani alias swathi "is my daughter in the affidavit and get it notarised from any lawyer in india.The sample format can be obtained from ur attorney.

USCIS has announced revised filing instructions for numerous petitions, including its Form I-140 (Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker), Form I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative), and Form I-539 (Application to Extend/Change Non-Immigrant Status). The new forms instruct petitioners to file their applications at USCIS Lockbox facilities rather than at USCIS Service Centers.

I have neither received a receipt nor checks have been encashed. My attorney has not received any july 2nd filed cases receipts. Its a pretty big law firm.

My wife received Appt. letter for FP second time. It mentioned that first time FP didn't pass thru FBI check, se she need to come again at no cost. Is this normal and did it happen to any one? We are in Atlanta.

I wanted to know if I can work for H-1B with my current company which holds my H-1B and work outside with another company on EAD. Is there a chance that I may loose my H-1B status if I work with EAD.

When you start using EAD you will lose H1 status. You can do multiple jobs on ead but not on H1

I am a doctoral student in clinical psychology, graduating next year in May or October. I am currently on an F-1 student visa and have heard ominous things about getting an H1-b and GC in my field.
I know I have time and things can change, but it seems like they are becoming more difficult. Hence if there are people out there who have ideas, experiences and information to share about what the process is like for potential psychologists to get sponsored, I would greatly appreciate your reply.
