H1Bs taken care by California and Vermont centers. 485, 131 and 765 are handled by Nebraska and Texas centers.
Also, Nebraska is big and main center. They know how to handle load.

By seeing above numbers, you can see how USCIS handles load of millions of EAD applications every year. so, 600K is not a surprise for them. In 2003, they got more 2 million applications, but they handled well. But it may be take one or two months extra, i.e. 3+2 = 5 months maximum to get your EAD. Thats for sure. They will be prepared for that when you they allow us to file.
If you already applied for EAD now, then you will for sure have a EAD by December.

it does say that H1B ext beyond 6 years can not be granted if there is not underlying pending process for GC (LC, 140 or 485).
However it does not talk about 'what happens if an ext is already granted'? so it still remains gray area. did I understand correctly?
If extension has already been granted, it remains valid until it's expired, revoked by USCIS, revoked by employer or employer goes out of business. However, H1B status is technically lost (similary to the situation when h1b holder leaves the petitioner but petitioner never revokes h1). Even if USCIS does not revoke the extension, it will be investigated during new I-485 processing/H1 transfer or extension.

There was LUD update on my i-485 on 02/05/2009 and 02/10/2009 with no change in the content of the message. Not sure what the update is for. Similarly there was LUD update on my wife's I-485 on 02/10/2009 and 02/11/2009 without any change in the content of the message.

There are plans on IVs agenda to see if we can collectively help ourselves on these issues.
I recommend all members to use every channel you get to fix issues like these.
We are entitled for a fair process and we must make sure every application is treated in a fair manner.

Silly question but I need an answer :)...How can I use Bill pay here? I bank with BOA and it asks for a company name if I choose bill pay...
Login to your bank account (This is for BoA)
Go to Bill Pay>>Payees>>Add a Payee
You will see two options
1)Pay a company
2) Pay an Individual
Click the GO button next to Pay an Individual (without entering any information)
In the next page
You will see a small form
Payee- is the name- in whose favor the check will be made
Nickname is for your reference
In Identifying information- you can put your handle
Rest is obvious
Payee creation is one time setup
Once you have created a payee
Go to Bill Pay>>Overview
and here you will see an option to make a payment
Login to your bank account (This is for BoA)
Go to Bill Pay>>Payees>>Add a Payee

Yes, They always do that. I did fill that form for my Senator and congressman when they did inquiry for my application in the backlog center.
I sent faxes to my senators and congressman on 2nd july. But haven't heard back from them. When they'll reply they will send me the same form.
I wrote letters to Cornyn and Hutcison about the situation. They have asked me to fill the privacy form authorizing the senator to access my data. Did anyone do this?

IV will become ready for elections when we have real candidates with real faces. I request all real candidates to publish their photos and accomplishments, their ideas for the organization; so that we can choose the best person for the job.
Any volunteers? Why don't I see a single volunteer! Seriously, can we have an election without candidates?!
I feel that initiator of this thread is not trying a coup d'�tat. He is merely pointing to the fact that every organization runs by elected officials. Having a life term president and core group is only heard in autocratic systems but not in a democratic one. What are we as an organization?
Why are we afraid of discussing new ideas? Why shouldn't we open up IV organization for elections? There is nothing wrong in declaring the rules and then playing by those rules.
So I completely support the guy who came up with this suggestion.

I am really appalled at the responses for the facts I posted here on the forum. I apologize to all who are offended by the posts.However I strongly believe that my comments represent facts.Personally I do not believe an individual can "bash" a country. I have certainly erred with my presumption that my opinions/comments would be received with some maturity of thoughts instead of surging patriotic emotions.
I have expressed thoughts about immigration where some policies of US are severely criticized. At this point I can only urge the community to read/write with a certain openness of mind to have a fair exchange of experiences and opinions.

We (5 People) work for IBM company, SFO, today we went personally to the congress men and we submit the letter which is provided in this forum and after that we called state senator office and we explained about our problem. We faxed and email the letter to the senator office, staff had taken my contact details and they told me that they will inform the solution in 2days.

A small but important correction in the above quote. Indian education is not a gift of the Brits. As a matter of fact history of eduction in India dates back to its cultural heritage. Nalanda university is considered to be the worlds first university. Correct me if I am wrong.

Also, I am not fabricating 750,000 number. This is the anticpated applicants, per Matthew Oh.

If the GC quota is 9800 for India then to process 750,00 applications ( most of them will be India I am sure ) will take like 20 years . Thats impossible man !!!

One way to increase participation is to involve the Indian student associations of the various universities of the area. They are usually pretty well organized and members are usually willing to support such causes. Also support from ISA's from top notch schools goes a long way to show the legal immigrant population as a highly educated bunch.

I dont get it for EB3 India. First they said once we get over the APR 01 hump we should be move quicker. Well guess what we DID get over that hump. Why the heck arent the dates moving at all for us?
