People in the forum are talking a lot about visa recapture..
But how will this help if USCIS continues to disregard PDs utterly and just approve cases that they can lay their hands on....
Due to July 2 fiasco, pretty much everyone have filed I-485...Even those with 2007 PDs.
Say USCIS recaptures Visas, makes every category current and starts approving 2007 PD cases! Even worst, due to the every category 'C', may be 2008, 2009 (when it arrives) people start applying I-485 as well, and USCIS continues to consume all the visa numbers to to approve the cases of these lucky bas*$%^&ds (no offence!) with most recent PDs. How does this help you or me with older PDs waitin for years and years ! :(

How does that work? There is no law or process to connect an abandoned labor. I had approved labor with a PD of 1999 that got lost when I switched companies. But no one seems to be connecting that to me.
Its not a rumor. This is real. Coming to think abt it, he had filed a labor in 2000/2001 time period and had abandoned it when he switched companies. I am wondering if USCIS takes the oldest one an applicant had ever filed.

I believe the majority ofthe IV members are from Indian origins. they should contact the Indian community that donated money to Hilary and ask why she voted against legal immigrants. she is preparing for her election compaign. I am sure she will answer or at least she will know that we are following her votes against us.

what king meant was that anyone could apply for 485 and get an EAD which has no work restrictions as a H1 and enjoy the same benifits someone with a GC holds..down the line(after years of wait) even if the 485 gets rejected he/she has njoyed all the privilages or work/travel by getting his/her AP/EAD...

I agree with this posting by nixstor 100%; Instead of utilizing this issue for contacting congressmen/senators and urging them to work towards more benefits for legal immigration like recapturing 180,000 unused visas in the past years, we are unnecessarily focussing our attention towards security lapses in approvals and inefficiences of USCIS.
What the hell on earth is this? Do you know for sure they have ignored it? Do not add masala to the existing crap. Do you understand the consequences of these kind of spiced up stuff? We all would be sulking in the security check for ever, if DHS gets pissed off or gets a congressional hearing and the authorities get lambasted over this. You are seeing how doctors are being implicated in UK and all over. Security is the most important thing right now on this planet and western world is agog over security. I dont know from where Greg Siskind and Jay Solomon got the tip off. They tipped each of their hats off and put the story in our brains to run the show. Security is not a Joke. Do not make it a bigger issue unless you dont know whether it really has happened. The consequences can be pretty dangerous to the extent of revoking all the issued GC's in the past 20 days, if congress gets high on this. I dont know what lawyers want, but my understanding is none of us want to have negative consequences of this issue.

I don't understand why you are picking up on facts and faults on other post.What mirage is saying is true.I know 3 families stuck up in this GC process...all true cases.
There are some lucky people who have bought old labor substitution ;)who came to US in 2004 and got their GC's cleared and are very :D.
Some really who have come here to study...living in US for past 10 years genuine appliers are really stuck in this.They have all applied their labor and got them cleared only dec 2006.
people who are interested can send those letters if not ignore the thread.
If you are EB2 good for you...Its not that easy to change jobs having families..and when you are satisfied with the employer ,why would they change.
Everyone here want GC to stay in this country.And we all are here to find solutions thru IV - active participation is better.

As EB1 is Cureent, presume processing applications up date, EB3 is Unavailable, means no work to do for USCIS people as far as EB3 Adjudicate cases, leave EB4, EB5 categories aside which dont have many applications to process. Then the only category left for working with is EB2 and that also having ROW being current, the adjuticate applications left for processing with available visa numbers are EB2 India for time being. So this means for the next few months including this June 2008 there might be many approvals in
EB2 India category, as because theres no considerable work in EB category for USCIS people except EB2 India Adjudication. So presumably all the available visa numbers will be processed effectively in the EB2 category for the fical year.

Well, you could still try and apply in EB2, as you mentioned earning a master's degree.
I am one of those who came in 98 on F1 and went through 3 different GC processes (all EB2) to finally see the CPO email now. No regrets though, as I changed employers a few times (resulting in dropping the first two GC processes) to achieve growth (higher salaries, actually).

So I wonder....should the dream act come through....could it work in my favor too lol? I came through no choice of my own (though legally) with my parents....
